Featured Computer Quick Tips!

-Magnify / shrink the size of websites: hold down the Ctrl button on your keyboard and rotate the scroll wheel in the middle of your mouse. Rolling the mouse wheel up will make everything bigger, while rolling the mouse wheel down will have the opposite effect. An alternative method, hold down CTRL and tap on the + and – buttons on the keyboard for the same function.

-Search text within any Web page: whenever you need to find the exact words you are looking for on any website hold down the Ctrl button on your keyboard and press “f”.  You should see a search box pop-up somewhere on your screen; type any word into that search box and your internet browser will find and highlight each instance of that word as it appears on the page.

-Undo and redo typing & other actions:

On iPhone/iPad to undo something you just typed, just shake the phone. To redo, shake it again.

On computer Ctrl-Z (Command-Z on a Mac) deletes the last action you took, whether it’s a copy-paste, a deletion or something you typed.

-Restore a closed browser tab: Hit Ctrl-Shift-T (Command-Shift-T on a Mac) and the pages will pop right up again.
-Find a lost document: Check your Temp folder on a PC by going to Windows Explorer, paste C:Users<username>AppDataLocalTemp into your navigation bar and you may spot it there.  FYI, “<username>” is the Administrator name that pops up when you open Windows.
If it’s not in the Temp folder, go to the File menu, click Open, then Recent Documents. Scroll to the end of all recent documents and then click “Recover Unsaved Documents.”

If not there, click the Start Menu and see “search programs and files” at the bottom (also applies for a Mac).  Put in any word or phrase in the lost document.  This will search your hard drive and come up with a list of documents that contain the words you entered.
